可以search 一下那些比较好的高中的summer reading 推荐书目，一般在academics，或者图书馆页面下。比如milton的：

我在九年级读了奥德赛和麦克白，这两本是学校规定的读物。我的同学在九年级有度读过The Catcher in the Rye, Romeo and Juliet, Julius Caesar, To Kill a Mockingbird等等。我个人感觉去美国之前最好先读几本莎士比亚的著作，罗密欧与朱丽叶是其中最简单的一本了。

你好，如果暑期没有太多安排的话，看书时间比较充足，并且如果你以前从来没有真正读过整本的原版小说的话，建议可以先从自己兴趣的方向入手，或者从适合自己目前阅读程度的书籍开始，这样循序渐进，效果会更好。

可以读dan brown的小说，lord of flies这种。也可以选择相对正统一些的比如说海明威的the sun also rises. 只要读了都会有帮助的

九年级的时候我们读了 Odyssey，Macbeth，the Catcher in the Rye，Three cups of tea另外基本我自己很喜欢的书像Gatsby和Walden也都是在高中的时候读的。 另外建议强烈建议在出国前一定要读一本莎士比亚因为你会经常遇到他：）

看英文书的话,建议买KINDLE,携带和购买方便,AMAZON上书源很丰富,而且现在很多图书馆都借阅电子版本.
