这63本书组成《美国高中英语文学核心读物》，并按照阅读的难易程度（文字本身的难度和理解的难度）分成入门级（相当于九年级）、初级（十年级）、中级（十一年级）、高级（十二年级）分成四个等级，每个等级里面再分成Classics、British Literature、 American Literature、International Literature四个类别，每个类别里都尽量含有各种文体（戏剧小说诗歌等）。可以直接按照自己的阅读水平选择适合自己的读物。
